Day 1 :

Writing task 1: Writing Task: Write a short paragraph describing his favorite activity, focusing on using all three sentence structures.

I think video games are good for you and they are fun. They help you with hand and eye coordination and there are so many to choose from making it so it's never boring. There are different games for all types of people and they are in general super fun.

  • I work at CBS, a company in the construction sector, where we offer BIM services to many engineering companies. We also collaborate with architecture studios, promoters, and construction companies across Spain. In my role, I manage a business development team and work in the organizational area as Director's Assistant. While I support the company's leadership, I also focus on developing new business, which involves numerous meetings every day. Last week I got done an important milestone, because we achieved my year's goal.

Introduction to Sentences:

Sentences can be classified into three main types based on their structure: simple, compound, and complex sentences.

  1. Simple Sentences:

    • A simple sentence consists of only one independent clause (a complete thought) and does not contain any conjunctions or additional clauses. It can have a subject and a predicate.

    • Example:

      • "I like to read books."

      • "She runs every morning."

  2. Compound Sentences:

    • A compound sentence consists of two or more independent clauses joined by a coordinating conjunction (such as and, but, or, nor, for, so, yet) or a semicolon.

    • Example:

      • "I wanted to go swimming, but it started raining."

      • "She loves to cook, and he enjoys eating."

  3. Complex Sentences:

    • A complex sentence contains one independent clause and at least one dependent (subordinate) clause. The dependent clause is connected to the independent clause using subordinating conjunctions (such as because, although, while, if, when, unless, since).

    • Example:

      • "I stayed home because it was raining."

      • "Although she was tired, she finished her homework."

Writing Task 2 :Write a short paragraph about a memorable event you experienced, using all three sentence structures (simple, compound, and complex). Describe the event in detail, including what happened, how you felt, and any important people or places involved.

Guidelines:

  • Use simple sentences to state facts or express basic thoughts.

  • Use compound sentences to show the connection between ideas or actions.

  • Use complex sentences to explain reasons, conditions, or details about the event.

Me and my friend went to a lake. We heard some sounds so we went and explored the area to see if we could find out what it was. One of the times we went looking around, we heard a whisper so we we ran away. The next few days we continued to go to the same place that we heard the noise until one time we heard more things so we decided not to go there ever again.

we decided to go to the forest near there. their house.. their book.. over there...

A memorable event I had this year was achieving my year end goal. This has been my first year as a Business Unit Manager, so this is the first year I have had a year's goal. The goal was set in December 2023 and it consists in getting/ acquiring/ contracting 25 consultants. This has required a lot of work from our team, but the hard work has permitted us to accomplish the goal in time. I feel really good about it because I know all the work across the process to achieving this.
