The air grows light with a familiar heavy feel
A flutter of wings starts the mind's hidden wheel
They perch on the eaves of the Soul's enchanted heart
Three black crows and their shadowy parts
The first is the Caw of Temptation sharp and sweet
Whispering of best paths for tired, wandering feet
“Just a taste, just a look::: for your burden is too much to bear”
Come hither it says, and weaves a gentle net, a beautiful snare.
The second is the Guttural Murmurs of Doubt cold and low
Pointing to places where new seeds normally grow
“You cannot, you’ll fail, you are doing it wrong”
A dark thought that if not quickly quelled will eclipse the sun & the fun.
The third the great grim one the Shadow of Fear
A huge shapely creature that insists : Hold it, Dear,
It's better to be safe in the dark, it says, than risk bringing in the light
It persistently peddles a long abysmal night.
A breath and some awareness and the issues become but a trifle
The Inner Self rises, it stirs, and refuses to stifled
It flows to the core like lava under the Earth
A fortress of resolve recalling its thirst
It remembers its purpose and becomes full of delight
It says good bye victim hood. I choose to feel light
The crows rise in protest, an amazing sound and sight like a dark cloud
Spirit shakes and moves and the flock clears like a shroud.
They circle and climb, then recede and grow very small
Until there is nothing left except stillness and calm
We were beckoned and fooled
Once seen never again to be moved
The soul stands alone fully and completely loved
The field is clear now for the soil-turning plough
The heavy wings vanish and all the darkness is gone
A knowing remains, continually thriving on
Purpose is mastery and the soul knows its way
All we need to do is get out of the way & have a great day
