    • Exercise: Have Varun practice by combining sentences using conjunctions to form compound and complex sentences.

    • Writing Task: Ask him to write a short paragraph describing his favorite activity, focusing on using all three sentence structures.

Class 2: Expanding Vocabulary for Descriptive Writing

  • Objective: Learn to use descriptive language to enhance writing.

  • Activities:

    • Vocabulary Building: Introduce adjectives and adverbs that add color and detail to descriptions (e.g., vibrant, smoothly, fragrant).

    • Sensory Writing Exercise: Ask him to describe a place or memory, focusing on sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.

    • Writing Task: Have him describe his room or a place he loves, encouraging the use of descriptive words.

Class 3: Building Paragraphs with Topic Sentences and Supporting Details

  • Objective: Structure a coherent paragraph with a clear main idea and supporting details.

  • Activities:

    • Introduction to Paragraph Structure: Explain topic sentences, supporting details, and concluding sentences.

    • Exercise: Give him a list of topic sentences and ask him to come up with supporting details for each.

    • Writing Task: Have him write a paragraph on a topic of his choice, guiding him on adding details to support his main idea.

Class 4: Narrative Writing Practice

  • Objective: Develop storytelling skills by writing a personal narrative.

  • Activities:

    • Understanding Narrative Structure: Discuss the beginning, middle, and end of a story.

    • Guided Storytelling: Ask Varun to think of a memorable experience and outline it with a clear structure.

    • Writing Task: Have him write about a fun or interesting experience, using descriptive language and varied sentence structures.

Class 5: Writing Persuasive Arguments

  • Objective: Learn to write persuasively by supporting an opinion with reasons.

  • Activities:

    • Discussion on Opinions and Reasons: Explain how persuasive writing is structured with a claim, supporting reasons, and examples.

    • Exercise: Ask Varun to choose a simple topic he feels strongly about (e.g., "Why recess is important") and outline three reasons to support his view.

    • Writing Task: Have him write a paragraph or short essay arguing his point of view.

Class 6: Editing and Revising Work

  • Objective: Develop editing skills to improve clarity, grammar, and flow.

  • Activities:

    • Editing Symbols and Tips: Introduce basic editing symbols and revision strategies.

    • Peer Review Practice: Review a sample text together, pointing out areas for improvement.

    • Self-Editing Task: Have Varun review one of his previous writings and make improvements.

These classes provide a well-rounded approach to building Varun’s writing skills, focusing on both structure and creativity. Let me know if he has specific needs, and I can adjust the plan accordingly.
